Preferences and Profile — to personalize your experience, you may optionally provide dietary preferences or restrictions, beauty, food, or lifestyle preferences, and ethical preferences (e.g., cruelty-free, fair-trade, ingredients to avoid).
Communications — if you contact us via email, Instagram, or in-app support, we may collect your email address and the content of your message.
(b) Information from Third Parties
We may receive limited information from app store providers (Apple App Store, Google Play) for subscription status or performance analytics, and from crash-reporting services. We do not receive payment card details from these providers.
(c) Information We Automatically Collect
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- IP address (used only for approximate location and security)
- Features used and interactions within the app
- Product scans, searches, or views (aggregated or pseudonymized)
- App performance data (crashes, load times)
We do not track precise real-time physical movement.
(d) Aggregated and De-Identified Data
We may create aggregated or anonymized data from personal information to improve app features and understand usage trends. This data does not identify you.
2. Use of Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and operate the BetterCause Platform
- Personalize product insights, preferences, and recommendations
- Maintain and improve app functionality and user experience
- Respond to inquiries, feedback, or support requests

BetterCause does not sell personal information.

If you use our website, we may use cookies or similar technologies to enable basic site functionality and understand usage and performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Our mobile app does not use third-party advertising cookies.
